The coalescence and separation process consists of two primary stages. In the first stage, as the liquid–liquid mixture passes through the coalescing filter element, fine dispersed droplets continuously merge into larger droplets through coalescence and subsequently settle.In the second stage, the purified liquid and enlarged droplets enter the separation filter element, which is constructed from hydrophobic materials. This stage effectively separates the liquid phases and removes residual particulates, resulting in progressively improved fluid cleanliness.

This integrated process significantly reduces fluid treatment costs, extends equipment service life, and enhances overall operational efficiency. It enables one-step fluid purification with low separation costs for both liquid–liquid and solid–liquid systems, thereby lowering production expenses and increasing productivity. The inclusion of a pre-filter unit further extends the service life of the coalescing and separation system.
